Our People
Our passion
The Spot is a grassroots organization which exists only because of the 100+ volunteers that dedicate their time and talents to helping local children. Our program structure includes an Executive Leadership Team, Board of Directors, and several dozen volunteers in Canandaigua and Victor.
Our volunteers, affectionately called Spotties, are parents, teachers, retirees, business owners, work teams, church groups, students and community members. Some volunteers join us once or twice a year, others once a month, and some once a week. Our volunteers are in charge of how often they help out and we encourages them to get involved in areas of our program that are most interesting to them.
We have helpers who love to organize and spend time in our resource rooms and others who know everyone in town and opt to work with the development team on fundraising. Maybe you have a knack for social media or a desire to learn more about working in our school food pantry - there is something for everyone and we welcome all levels of time commitments and a variety of talents!
