Free help for students and families in Canandaigua and Victor.

If your student goes to school in the Canandaigua or Victor school district, we can help with food, clothing, sneakers, winter coats, school supplies, and personal care items. It’s all free. No paperwork, no red tape.

Things for school

Every school in Canandaigua and Victor has a free Spot resource room with clothing, sneakers, winter gear, school supplies, snacks, personal care items, and dress clothes for school concerts.

How to ask for help

  1. 1Tell your child’s teacher, counselor or social worker what your student needs.
  2. 2They’ll send the request to us, and your student gets what they need. There’s no paperwork and no cost.
  3. 3Not sure who to ask? Email us at executivedirector@thespotny.org and we’ll help.

Food for your family: SpotMart

SpotMart is our school-based food pantry. If you have a student in the Canandaigua or Victor school district and your family needs food, you can sign up.

  • Monthly food bags. Every month, including over summer break, families get a 20-pound bag of food. Pick it up, or we’ll deliver it to your door.
  • Help in a crisis. If your family is going through a hard time, we can deliver food every week. Teachers and social workers can also ask us for emergency food at any time.
  • Staying in a motel? We can pack microwave-friendly food that needs little or no prep.
  • School breaks. Before long school breaks, we send home extra food.
